Impact Reporting

Beneficiary Impact Assessment

Impact refers to the changes, both positive or negative, that occur to beneficiaries through a program or intervention. This is typically measured using the following sequence:

  • The same questionnaire is used for both before and after surveys.
  • A before survey is taken prior to the program starting.
  • The program is implemented.
  • An after survey is taken once the program ends.
  • The impact analysis measures shifts in thinking.

After entering the survey data, an analysis can be run to assess the impact. The results first show a split of respondent profiles—for example, the majority may be female and aged 13–17. For each possible answer to a question, the before and after distributions are shown, and the shift column indicates changes in thinking affected by the program.
